Kinderkonzert at Orchestra Hall

In November, the preschool and kindergarten class traveled by bus to downtown Minneapolis. The children were able to experience on stage each instrument by itself as well as snippets from different famous pieces. The storyteller then told the story of “Jack and the Beanstalk”. It was fascinating to hear the story come to life with the instruments playing the parts. Then we went into a different room to try the sound factory. Each child tried playing a violin, cello, and snare drum. They also learned about high and low pitch. The bigger the instrument the lower the sound. It was an amazing field trip.
